Shane Small is a creative executive, founder and product visionary working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, emerging technology, entertainment, gaming and interactive storytelling.

Across more than 20 years, he has built multidisciplinary teams, shaped new products and platforms, and translated complex technologies into experiences people understand, enjoy and remember. His work spans early-stage ventures and global organizations, from executive vision and creative strategy through product development and launch.

Shane is the co-creator of Exploding Kittens, the record-breaking Kickstarter backed by 219,382 people and funded with $8.7M. He has led work for Toyota Woven City, Meta, Netflix, Xbox, Sony, Marvel, Disney, Shell and other category-defining brands, including global campaigns seen by more than 260 million people.

As Chief Creative Officer at Candy Digital and previously at Smith & Tinker, Shane built and led creative organizations around new forms of entertainment, digital ownership and original intellectual property. At Xbox Entertainment Studios, he helped pioneer interactive storytelling for the living room. His work also includes AI-powered mobility experiences for Toyota Woven City, future-facing creative strategy for Meta, and interactive experiences across television, games, platforms and physical spaces.

His approach is intentionally hybrid: part executive leader, part inventor and part hands-on builder. He works comfortably across creative direction, product strategy, experience design, systems thinking and emerging technology—aligning teams around a clear idea and carrying it all the way into the world.
